The European Union has finalized its anti-subsidy duties on electric vehicles imported from China, setting rates ranging from 8% to 35% on top of the standard 10% auto tariff. The decision aims to protect local European manufacturers from cheaper state-subsidized imports.\n\nIn response, Chinese automakers like BYD and Chery are accelerating plans to build factories inside Europe, particularly in Hungary and Spain, to bypass the duties.\n\nAnalysts predict the tariffs will lead to higher EV prices for European consumers in the short term, but will speed up local manufacturing investments.
