CATL Announces 2027 Commercialization Target for Solid-State Batteries

CATL has officially announced its research and development roadmap for all-solid-state batteries, targeting small-batch production by 2027. The batteries are expected to offer an energy density of up to 500 Wh/kg, which is nearly double that of current liquid-lithium batteries.\n\nSolid-state batteries replace the liquid electrolyte with a solid counterpart, greatly reducing fire risk and enabling ultra-fast charging without degradation.\n\nWhile scaling up production remains a major manufacturing challenge, CATL's massive supply chain and investment budget position it as the frontrunner in next-generation battery technology.
